Sometimes I see the man
I met that night on the stairs nearby
And again I’m frightened of his face disfigured and scarred

But then I saw a shimmering light
Behind his ghostly features
And suddenly I felt his hand in mine
I was smiling and my heart began to shine

There in the morning light
On the stairs in front of my door
